The new horizons
of Tuscan wine

Cabernet Sauvignon with character, Mediterranean brilliance and a fresh, aromatic Vermentino

“Poggio Roveto” explores the new frontiers of Tuscan wine: the lands of Bolgheri.

Here Cabernet Sauvignon has found its chosen home, giving fans soft and persistent wines, refreshed by brilliant acidity. Harmony and clarity complete the picture, making Bolgheri one of the most promising cradles for the future of Italian wine. The “Poggio Roveto” line is rounded out with the aromatic freshness of Vermentino Toscana IGT, a wine that picks up the legacy of Maremma.

A unique territory between sea and hills: where different soils create distinctive expressions.

elegance, structure, depth

The rustling of the cypresses and the immensity of the sea offer their majestic stage to one of the most prestigious wines of the peninsula: Bolgheri. The generosity of this land has always attracted man, who has populated this slice of Tuscany since the most remote times of the Etruscans.

Here, on the gentle hills that rise from San Guido to the innermost woods, geology has worked with generosity and imagination. The territory is a complex mosaic, the result of sea, alluvial and hilly contributions, which alternate within a radius of a few hundred meters, generating profoundly different expressions of wine.

Our Bolgheri shows an elegant intense ruby red color in the glass. On the nose, it reveals aromas of black cherry and coffee, with subtle chimes of black pepper and oak wood. The palate opens on fruity notes, accompanied by a robust tannic texture that accompanies towards a long and persistent finish.

Experience-driven tradition

The imprint of Pierfranco Bonaventura

The coastal Maremma is a sanctuary of Vermentino, here the soil is not just matter: it is breath, movement, continuity. The land tells an ancient story, made up of sea sands pushed by the action of the wind, alluvial sediments deposited by capricious waterways, and strips of hill where red clays emerge, rich in minerals and memory. It is a geological kaleidoscope that, like the landscape that surrounds it, thrives on contrasts and harmonies.

Our vineyards have their roots at the edge of the forest, in that natural isthmus that connects the hinterland to the sea. The light sands, a legacy of the ancient coastal dunes, give impeccable drainage and force the vine to a sober but intense growth: this is how grapes with a bright aromatic profile are born, chiseled by the proximity of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Going up towards the hills, the soil changes its voice: clays rich in iron oxides appear, which dye the earth bright red and give the wines a fuller structure, a firmer texture. Here the vine finds nourishment and depth, and translates it into wines with a more mature, multifaceted character, but always crossed by that freshness that is the daughter of the sea.

Poggio Roveto Vermentino interprets this free soul of the Tuscan Maremma. The elegant mineral profile of this wine seems to want to echo the slow lapping of the waves, which, like an ancient melody, enchants this corner of Tuscany with its fairytale echoes.

The wine shows its precious elegance right from its golden yellow color. Its delicate floral bouquet seduces the nose, with refined nuances of aromatic herbs. On the palate it gives citrus flavors, balanced by notes of salt, anise, ginger and tropical fruit. The saline finish fully reveals the round and mineral character of this wine.

Three corners of Italy.
Three identities.
A single vision.
